Nandini Rai was born as Neelam Gouhrani on 18 September 1990 in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She belongs to a Sindhi family. She did her schooling from St. Albans High School, Hyderabad, passing out in 2003. She has completed her higher education in London. She holds an MBA Degree in finance. She was very interested in modeling since childhood and she has modeled for over 80 national and international brands. During her modeling stint, she has won many beauty contests and crowned as Miss Hyderabad 2008, Miss Andhra Pradesh 2010, Miss Pantaloons Fresh Face of Andhra Pradesh 2009 and Miss Beautiful Eyes of Andhra Pradesh 2010. She then entered the film industry and made her debut in the Hindi film Family Pack. Her Telugu debut is 040. She made her Malayalam film debut in the 2013 film Goodbye December. Now she has participated in the big reality show Star Maa Bigg Boss Telugu Season 2. She enters the show as the wildcard contestant.
